  • GC Collective membership is only available for the senior legal leader inside an organization. This includes the Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel, VP Legal, or Head of Legal who is the most senior, full-time lawyer at a company. Learn more about our membership criteria here.

  • Yes. Many members join while new to the GC role and benefit from peer support and leadership development.

  • Yes. We intentionally include diverse company sizes and also match peers for relevant conversations when appropriate.

  • Yes. GC Collective is designed for busy General Counsel across North America, not just those based in major cities. Most of our programming is virtual, making it easy to participate from wherever you are without the time and travel commitment of attending in person. Our virtual sessions are highly interactive and peer-driven — built for real conversation, practical learning, and meaningful connection with other GCs.

  • Community Membership is ideal if you want to:

  • Yes. Many members begin with Community or Professional membership and later apply for Executive Circles when they are ready for a deeper commitment.

  • Executive Circles participation is curated to ensure meaningful peer alignment and a high-quality experience for every member. We review applications as they come in, but participation depends on being matched with the right cohort. In some cases, we may not be able to offer you a place immediately after your application. Instead, we will consider your role, experience, and leadership context and invite you to join once we have created a group that is well aligned with you. Cohorts are thoughtfully matched based on factors such as:

    • Role scope

    • Team size

    • Industry

    • Company stage

    • Leadership experience

  • Programming includes:

    • Member-led virtual roundtables

    • In-person retreats and masterclasses 

    • High impact virtual leadership workshops based on our proprietary leadership curriculum

    • Practical operations focused sessions

    • Social events such as in‑person member dinners or cocktail mixers

    Our programming is designed to be practical, interactive, and immediately applicable.

  • Some educational sessions may be recorded. However, many peer discussions are intentionally not recorded to preserve confidentiality and encourage open dialogue.

  • Yes. The GC Collective is built on trust. Members agree to community guidelines that support confidentiality, respect, and professional integrity. This allows members to discuss real challenges in a safe environment. Our meetings are held under the Chatham House Rule, which means members may use the insights they gain, but may not identify who shared them or reveal information that could identify another member or their organization.
